Updated with knob shapes that offer more bite.
Alongside shallower siping on the outer knobs for improved support without compromising wet-weather grip, the verdict is a rowdy, front-focused tyre for enduro and gravity riding where traction takes priority over rolling speed.
it features WTB's Tritec compound, which makes use of three different rubber mixtures to achieve the qualities you need in varying areas of the tyre. Thus, the supportive foundation of this tyre us made from strong, high durometer rubber, while the tall, wide centre knobs are made from a medium durometer alternative that is grippy and durable enough to hold up to heavy braking and punishment without flexing, but limits rolling resistance.
Meanwhile, the substantial side knobs, which overhand the sidewall to protect it from slashes and provide traction while cornering, are made from a softer, slower rebounding rubber that moulds to the ground for extra control and grip.
The tread profile of the tyre has also been updated, for more predictable cornering and a smoother transition from the centreline to the side knobs when you’re tackling flowing trails or riding off camber.
A wide channel has also been introduced between the intermediate and side knobs, to create separate braking and cornering zones for optimum performance. Simultaneously, open spacing around the knobs helps them to easily shed mug or dig in extra deep while riding over dry soil and rocky ground.
Made for tubeless setup, this tyre features a choice of single-ply casing that offers cornering support and puncture resistance or strong, duel-ply casing for extra protection and reinforcement. Both types provide some sidewall support and puncture resistance, while the tcs light casing may optionally be reinforced by sg2 puncture protection.
Available in 27.5 or 29” sizes, with a generous width of 2.5”, this aggressive enduro or gravity tyre is best paired with the judge 2.4 rear tyre when you’re looking for unparalleled traction and confidence to spur you on to new heights.
